The Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation (VCGLR) has an opportunity for an experienced Business Planning and Reporting Officer to undertake business planning and reporting, risk management, business continuity and to ensure corporate governance is consistent with the obligation of the statutory authority of the Victorian Public Sector. About the organisation

The Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation (VCGLR) is the independent statutory authority that administers Victoria's gambling and liquor laws. We are responsible for gambling and liquor licensing and undertake activities to prevent and detect breaches, also informing and educating industry and the general public about regulatory practices and requirements. The opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Governance and Reporting, this role is responsible for:

  • Corporate governance consistent with the obligations of a statutory authority in the Victorian Public Sector
  • Corporate and annual business planning process and reporting
  • Risk management and business continuity
  • Corporate and performance reporting

Who we are looking for

Tertiary qualified in Business, Commerce or Law or with demonstrable equivalent experience, you understand and have experience in public policy, government processes, public sector governance and regulatory environments.

Utilising your highly developed written and verbal communication skills, you will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to support the VCGLR's strategic performance reporting framework and the provision of key planning and performance information to the CEO and the Commission.

You will use your conceptual and analytical ability to analyse business information, formulate advice and prepare responses to requests, assess corporate risks and support the work to implement responses or preventative measures and support corporate and performance reporting.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the VCGLR's strategic performance reporting framework and the provision of key planning and performance information and advice to be presented to the CEO and the Commission
  • Provide practical guidance and advice to divisional areas to improve the quality of organisational reporting
  • Assess corporate risks and support the work to implement responses or preventative measures
  • Prepare Commission papers, high quality and comprehensive briefs and written reports relating to organisational issues including the annual report
  • Participate in business planning projects and in relevant meetings, forums and committees as required
