St Vincent's Private Hospital Melbourne (SVPHM) is a facility of St Vincent's Health Australia under the stewardship of Mary Aikenhead Ministries. We are a not for profit Catholic private hospital which operates across four sites at Fitzroy, East Melbourne, Kew and Werribee.

Reporting to the Director of Commercial Services, we have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Property and Infrastructure Manager to take on the responsibility for the property and infrastructure, contracts, security and efficient management and operational support to the engineering staff across the four hospital sites.

The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in engineering (or equivalent) or a current trade qualification (plumbing, electrical, mechanical), substantial supervisory experience in hospital maintenance or engineering (preferred) as well as recent experience in managing major infrastructure and building projects. The ideal person will be able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and the ability to communicate with staff across all levels of the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Operational management - to ensure all maintenance support services within the organisation are undertaken in a timely and effective manner, and comply with relevant company regulatory policies and procedures (including the provision of a reliable preventative maintenance program)
  • Facilities management - contribute to the planning and implementation of office and building refurbishment, site development plans and building works, and major equipment acquisition, project management of building and infrastructure works
  • Engineering management - maintaining compliance with OHS policies and procedures, investigation of all reported incidents and managing budgeted expenditure
  • Security Management - the management of the security of the facilities, including hospitals, consulting suites and car park
  • Quality and resource management - promote quality improvement as an integral part of service provision: participating and leading other staff in continuous improvement of practice and quality activities
  • Modelling and promoting the Mission, Vision and Values of St Vincent's Health Australia whilst meeting the operational objectives
