The Opportunity

The Research Support Administrator is responsible for providing a range of administration support to the Pro Vice-Chancellor Research (PVC-R) and Research Office more broadly.

Reporting to the Pro Vice-Chancellor Research (PVC-R) you will join a team of passionate staff who are playing their part in making sure that we are Here for Good.

Duties include diary management, meeting preparation, drafting reports, supporting institutional accountabilities associated with the Research Office, and duties related to research expenditure and grant administration.

On a typical day in this role you will:
  • Support the PVC-R and Research Office on administration of TUA Strategic Research Plan.
  • Manage PVC Research diary/event/trip management bookings
  • Provide administrative support to meetings including preparation of papers/agendas/minutes/actions
  • Source information and draft reports for Governing Board, Academic Board and external consultation Papers
  • Provide support for internal and external communications maintaining and developing relevant internal/external web pages
  • Support post-award administration of funded research projects of TUA Researchers.
  • Manage and process invoices, payments, expenses and travel related to the research activities undertaken by the University.
  • Other duties as required.
This is a Permanent Fulltime position based in Sydney working remotely.

Who are you?
To be successful in the Research Support Administratorposition you will have:
  • Experience within the Higher Education Sector
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining document management and control systems
  • Advanced MS Office program skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Exceptional organisational skills and commitment to detail
  • Highly developed time and project management skills and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and to effectively manage multiple projects including the organisation of events and functions
  • Strong verbal communication, interpersonal and public relations skills to enable professional interaction with a range of people and cultures including senior management and other staff
  • Exceptional written communication skills including demonstrated experience in drafting correspondence, presentations, and reports
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation of agendas and minutes
  • Previous experience in research administration, particularly research finance or grants administration, will be highly regarded
