The Centre

Belgravia Leisure is proud to partner with the City of Greater Bendigo to bring the Gurri Wanyarra Wellbeing Centre to the Bendigo community.

Gurri Wanyarra means ‘kangaroo waterhole’ in the language of Bendigo’s Traditional Owners, the Dja Dja Wurrung.

The state-of-the-art facility offers a range of year-round aquatic, leisure and wellness programs for people of all ages and abilities.

The $31 million facility will feature:

  • an eight-lane, 50-metre indoor pool
  • a heated indoor warm water program pool
  • a spa and sauna
  • a children’s splash park
  • a learn to swim program pool for children and adults
  • a fully equipped gymnasium with group exercise and personal training facilities
  • multipurpose rooms designed to provide selected allied health and wellbeing services
  • a café to refuel and refresh.

All pools are heated and are fully accessible, and we will offer inclusive swim lessons for children and adults with a disability. Our health club will cater for adults and teens of all fitness levels, including seniors, people with rehabilitation needs or are living with a disability.

The Role

Our Café/Kiosk Attendants need to have the highest level of customer service skills.

The primary responsibility of our Café/Kiosk Attendants is to deliver first class services to our patrons ensuring it’s in line with our Mission, Vision and Values.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Provide excellent customer service to all customers 
  • Maintaining the appearance and presentation of the café
  • Replenished condiments as needed
  • Follow health and safety guidelines
  • Cashier experience, taking orders and handling cash
  • Apply sound cash handling principals and use of Point of Sale (POS) systems
  • Promote the centres services and programs to our patrons
  • Develop and maintain good working relations with patrons
  • Provide information on our product range, including promoting healthy food options
  • Ability to work mornings, evenings and weekends. Hours may increase during the centre's peak periods

Skills & Attributes:

  • Positive, friendly, helpful and energetic work style
  • Coffee making/ barista skills
  • Food handling Certificate
  • Current First Aid Certificate (Workplace Level 2).
  • Current CPR Certificate.
  • Current Food Handlers Qualification 
  • Police Check
  • Working with Children Check 
  • Ability to be flexible during the centre's peak periods
  • Availiability Saturdays and Sundays
