Easy Agile is looking for a leader to lead our engineering team. We support agile teams at over 2,500 global companies like Netflix, NFL, Disney, Lego, EA, Mercedes, Dell and Twitter. As our first-ever Engineering Manager hire, your responsibility will be leading and growing the capability and size of our engineering group. Our Product and Engineering teams doubled in size in the last year and we see that growth continuing as we strive to meet customer demand.

You will have a huge impact in this role, not only as our engineering leader, reporting into our co-founder/CEO, but also the first Engineering hire into our leadership team. Your team has 11 incredible Engineers today and you will have the opportunity to own how we build and grow the team.

Easy Agile is based in Wollongong, NSW. We are happy to offer a relocation package and assistance for this role.

About the Role

  • Ensuring our engineering teams are working effectively and delivering value to our customers.
  • People leadership, mentoring and continuous improvement of a diverse team of engineers.
  • Strengthening our culture of lean principles and agile practices.
  • Collaborate across the Marketing, Partnerships, Product, Engineering & People pillars of our business to deliver key results.
  • Providing full people leadership, mentoring, coaching and direction to our diverse team of engineers.
  • Working with our People & Culture Business Partner on how we sustainably scale our engineering teams. Including setting deliberate strategies for how we source, recruit, onboard and retain A player Engineers at all levels.
  • Proactively identify and remove blockers, and minimise interdependencies.

About you

You’ve consciously chosen the people management track vs the technical path for your career and are driven by enabling others through your leadership. You’re experienced at building a strong engineering culture grounded in lean principles and agile practices where you communicate with radical candour and call out ruinous empathy.

With a growth mindset, you lead by example - consistently improving how you work and sharing your methods with the team. You protect the team from red tape and legacy systems by ensuring they never exist. And you collaborate with other business pillars to create an effective company.

You are genuinely passionate about mentoring, coaching and empowering your team members to do their best work and enabling them to punch above their weight. And you provide empathetic and effective leadership of the engineering function.

  • Have strong emotional intelligence, empathy and communication skills.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals.
  • Demonstrate a ‘can do’ attitude: you identify and action items regardless of area of responsibility.
