Following an impressive set of internal promotions to support business transformation our client is looking for a Commercial Finance Manager to join their Finance Leadership Team and help consolidate the growth prospects for the business.

The Role

The Commercial Finance Manager will be a vital member of the Finance team taking ownership of the provision of commercial insights to drive competitive advantage, business growth and sustainability of costs for the Production arm of the Business Services Group. The Commercial Finance Manager will lead, guide, develop and mentor a team of four direct reports to improve their business partnership skills whilst maintaining sensitivity to the pre-transformation structure of the team. The Commercial Finance Manager will play a key role in providing strong commercial and financial advice to the business unit management team. Additionally, the Commercial Finance Manager will partner with the business in identifying, modelling and developing execution initiatives aligned with the organisation's strategic direction to drive long term profitability.

Your Background

The successful candidate will be Chartered Accountant (or equivalent) and have a demonstrated track record of success in leading large commercial projects within a senior finance role. The successful person will have between 8-12 years' experience in a large organisation. Experience navigating through an intricate, matrix environment will be essential. You will also demonstrate outstanding skills in the following areas:

  • Leadership | An ability to develop, mentor and coach a complex, high performing team to success whilst acknowledging the former structure.
  • Communication | An ability to effectively negotiate with clients, subcontractors and other stakeholders. Exceptional interpersonal, teamwork and conflict resolution skills as well as sound planning capabilities and presentation skills.
  • Transformation and Change | Experienced in building, structuring or restructuring teams to ensure continued success which also aligns with the organisation's transformation agenda.
  • Project Management | Experience in leading business case developments and execution of large, complex projects.
  • Technical Skills | Experience in revenue and cost management, financial modelling and partnering and influencing.
