Senior Marketing Coordinator

Gibsons Consulting Pty Ltd - Brisbane Grove, NSW

Source: uWorkin

Gibsons is seeking a new marketing team member to help implement marketing strategies for our clients. You will take the business strategy work produced by our senior consultants and turn it into efficient, effective marketing activity plans and campaigns; overseeing those campaigns working with a range of third party suppliers on a month-to-month basis.

Starting as a casual consulting role we would expect your workload would grow to occupy most of your working week fairly quickly should you wish to operate a full schedule. You would operate from a home office working closely (virtually) with one of our Senior Marketing Consultants, spending some time on site with clients for marketing meetings. Whilst this self-employed role carries no set number of hours it is inevitable that as you demonstrate your skills and build trust with our team and our clients, your role would expand rapidly.

The role would best suit someone who is professionally and personally mature, highly self-motivated and entrepreneurial, looking for the flexibility and autonomy of consulting, with the security of knowing that clients would be brought to you.

You will need to be highly experienced in the marketing discipline, confident in your ability and be a consummate professional with high-level literacy and computer literacy and most importantly, an excellent client-side manner as a "trusted adviser". You are someone our clients will want to work with.

You will be working with highly experienced C-Level Senior Consultants who will help you hone your knowledge and skills rapidly. A great opportunity for a young-median marketer who is highly competent and looking for a work experience that will expand their understanding across a wide variety of business sectors, models and structures over a relatively short space of time.

  • Degree qualified in Marketing from a recognised institution AND/OR, willing to be thoroughly tested on your marketing discipline knowledge and experience prior to a formal offer.
  • At least 5 years experience performing a similar role within marketing departments of companies and organisations of a reasonable size handling a wide variety of marketing activities, media and third-party relationships.

Skills, knowledge and experience

  • An innate understanding of how to apply the same, unchanging principles of good marketing in any size organisation, knowing how to scale different methodologies and tools up or down depending on the challenge and the client appetite/need, in consultation with your Senior Marketing work partner. (You will not be left alone to make critical decisions).
  • A good working knowledge of "textbook" marketing theory and practice (4Ps, Porters 5 Forces, STP Process, Buyer Journey Mapping, Perceptual Mapping, Marketing Planning, Research Processes and routines, etc).
  • Experience managing briefing, output and campaign projects involving a variety of third party suppliers including Graphic Designers, Brand Designers, Writers, Researchers, Digital Marketing Specialists, Developers, etc.
  • The ability to successfully assess the suitability of these third party skills.
  • Understanding of production requirements of all media (print, radio, outdoor, etc).
  • Proficiency in Social Media management and willingness to undertake further training.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and Google tools and highly professional admin and office communication skills.
  • Basic ability with Adobe Creative Suite or Canva to do basic photo editing, create simple ads etc., when necessary. NOTE: we are not looking for advanced graphic design skills and would expect you to use third party trained professionals wherever required.
  • Campaign Project Management skills – effectively managing multiple suppliers to achieve outcomes to budget and timeline.

Attitude and values

  • You understand the importance of taking direction and learning the ropes - Gibsons has highly developed processes and we need our consultants to learn our way of working, which we believe is "benchmark".
  • A “client first” approach with the ability to bring people along working effectively with their levels of understanding.
  • A passionate professional with an eye for detail and an understanding that the details of professional polish uphold a strong image. You are driven to do the best you can within the budget you are managing at all times.
  • Ability to self-regulate, manage personal boundaries and manage competing priorities calmly and in a self-assured way.
  • Honest, transparent, collegiate.

To operate effectively in this role you will need:

  • A corporate business entity (PTY LTD; not merely a personal ABN) that you can invoice through.
  • A home office space where you can work without distraction and sufficient support in your personal life to achieve this.
  • Up-to-date computer equipment, printer and all your own software licences.

Some of the things you will help our clients to do:

  • Create Marketing Activity Plans adhering to strategy headlines and guidelines.
  • As a subset of the above 2 points, create promotions campaigns.
  • Identify new customers/further penetrate existing segments, develop channels.
  • Devise/create effective social media content as per strategic goals, brand position, guidelines and key messages.
  • Support sales and lead generation efforts with the work that you produce.
  • Administer CRM system and give guidance to internal staff on effectively operating their CRM.
  • Execute EDM campaigns, report on results and cleanse database.
  • Understand and developing marketing budgets for maximum ROI.
  • Organise company trade shows or assist with promotion and design of client events.
  • Directing, planning and coordinating marketing efforts.
  • Helping organisations become “market-and-customer-focused”
  • Effectively directing, briefing and project managing external resources on time and on budget.
  • Create and run e-surveys and assist with in-depth telephone surveys when necessary.
  • Evaluate competitors and conduct competitor analyses.
  • Conduct Marketing Audits.
  • Compile reports for your Senior Marketing Advisor Consultant work partner.
  • Take and circulate notes and minutes of client marketing meetings.
