The Role

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Operational Technology (OT) Project Engineer to join our Transformation and Technology team in our Brisbane, Spring Hill, Perth, or Melbourne, Southbank office on a full time, permanent basis.

Reporting to the OT Projects Manager, Engineering Systems, you will play a key role in ensuring operational technology developments are managed effectively through providing leadership and technical expertise. You will actively contribute to project delivery strategies to ensure APA has the OT skills and strengths to sustain this growing area of the business

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the delivery of OT programs of work.
  • Provide technical design and consultancy services for the operational technology services offered by Engineering Systems.
  • Provide technical leadership to resolve conflicts in a way that benefits the program.
  • Provide expert guidance to OT project teams including mentoring.
  • Perform process improvement activities, contribute to standards and the production of automation tools to improve efficiency.
  • Proactively develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaise with internal suppliers and customers to manage expectations and ensure that agreed outcomes are achieved.

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical and Electronics, Control System Engineering, Process or Chemical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying technology to improve business outcomes in the utilities industry with preference for power generation, renewables, future fuels or associated industries.
  • Knowledge of relevant statutory requirements, Australian and international codes and standards.
  • A working knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety legislative requirements.
  • Client focused with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of core OT technologies: ClearSCADA, OSIsoft Pi, Synergi Pipeline Simulator, Alarm Management, with focus on Microgrids and distributed energy resource management, and emerging technologies.
  • Proven track record in leading and managing project teams in the successful delivery of operational technology projects.
