Offering Distribution and Marketing Services, this Australian Services Provider are dedicated to service their clients all across Australia.

With their head office based in Parramatta, they are on the lookout for a Senior Systems Administrator/Engineer to join their friendly team and take full ownership of managing infrastructure, working on projects and providing phone, remote and physical support, training and maintenance of operating systems, networks and applications.

Position

Reporting to the IT Manager, you will provide your IT expertise to clients and end-users in a large Windows based environment.

Some of Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Infrastructure related project management, implementation & support
  • Ownership of Network management within Head Office
  • Systems Administration
  • Vendor Management of infrastructure related suppliers
  • Point of escalation for any IT related issue
  • Ensure that security, antivirus, backup and disaster recovery protection is maintained and tested on a regular basis
  • Assist with the selection, installation, maintenance and use of all computer hardware and software;
  • Escalate infrastructure incidents to senior staff as required, and follow through for resolution
  • Produce and maintain documentation on current configuration, setup procedures and SLA reports
  • Install new software on internal and external physical and virtual computers
  • Supervise, mentor and coach more junior staff
  • Take part in on call out of hours flexible rotating roster (1 week per month)
  • Provide feedback on continuous improvement of processes and procedures in order to enhance the current use of products or reduce incidents volume.

Technical requirements

  • 6+ years of experience working as a Systems Administrator in Medium to large Microsoft based environments
  • Experience with installation and troubleshooting of Windows OS
  • Strong technical knowledge across Windows Servers, O365, Hyper-V, Citrix Netscaler
  • Solid PowerShell scripting skills
  • Experience with Networking and Fortigate highly regarded
  • Experience with Dynamics NAV (Navision) or Business Central a plus
  • Strong abilities to set priorities, plan workload, meet deadlines and achieve the objectives of the department
  • Excellent Troubleshooting skills and ability to collate data for escalation
  • Good knowledge of ITIL methodology including Incident, Change, Problem and Knowledge Management.
  • IT degree or equivalent qualification and relevant IT certifications (MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Outstanding Customer Service skills
  • Valid drivers license
