Small Motors Mower City is a family owned and operated business that specialises in the sale, service, and repair of mowers and outdoor power equipment in Perth.

Established in 1978, we have been servicing the garden and landscaping needs of the local Perth community - both residential and commercial, for over 35 years.

Our showroom and workshop is located in Rudloc Road, Morley. It's where you'll find one of Perth's largest selections of Outdoor Power Equipment for the domestic and commercial consumer, with both petrol and electric machines available, including Lawn Mowers, Ride-On Mowers, Outdoor Power Equipment, Spare Parts, and Accessories.

About The Role

You will complete a Certificate III Outdoor Power Equipment Technology through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job in the workshop.

First-year

  • learning about customer service (e.g. talking to customers, diagnosing the issue and communicating to customers)
  • Health and safety training
  • Assist qualified tradespeople in the shop

Later Duties (not Limited To)
  • Support the maintenance and servicing of small engines
  • Handle general workshop tools and machinery
  • Service equipment such as mowers, chainsaws, sprayers, generators & chainsaws
  • Assist in the assembling of small engines

About You

This Apprenticeship is open for a recommencing or a brand new individual and will suit both mechanically minded School-leavers or mature aged.

To be successful in this role, you'll need to have the following:
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Interest in Mechanics and mechanically-minded
  • Ability to grasp new concepts quickly and efficiently
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills and knowledge
  • General knowledge of both maths and computer skills
  • Strong ability to plan work and effective time management
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Motivated
