Your new company
An ASX listed international gold company that is conducting aggressive exploration and expansion programs to increase the resource and reserve base targeting production above 200,000 oz/year. The company is currently seeking a suitably qualified Open Pit Geologist to join their team on an 8:6 roster, fly in fly out from Perth.,

Your new role
Reporting to the Senior Geologist you will be responsible for contributing to the achievement of production targets. This role will require you to be independent offering you a high degree of autonomy and responsibility. Your key responsibilities include;

  • Management of Open Pit mine geology including ore spotting, ore mark-up assisting technical team with the efficient mining of the pit.
  • Assisting with the development of further open pits at Darlot and surrounding tenements, including interpretation & modelling, grade control and near mine exploration.
  • Demonstrate full compliance with the OHS and Environmental Management Systems' standards by participating in initiatives; toolbox meetings; investigations; training; assisting with the implementation; and contributing to audits within the mine.
  • Enhance the capability of the company to consistently achieve mining production & development targets aligned with legislative requirements by coordinating and supervising the extraction of ore from pits
  • Ensure timely and accurate collation of geological data (including QA/QC) and reports. Ensure that the geological interpretation is incorporated into high standard JORC compliant grade control and resource models
  • Ensure that risks and opportunities are communicated in a timely manner. Work with Mine Engineers to optimize the Resource to Reserve conversion process


What you'll need to succeed

  • Tertiary qualification in Geology or similar
  • Previous experience in gold, open pit mine geology
  • Experience using Vulcan software
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team-orientated approach
  • High regard for safe-working rules and procedures
