JOB DESCRIPTION

The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a part time law student to join our Disputes and Insolvency team as a Paralegal on a permanent, full time basis.

Reporting to the Supervising Principals, your core duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Day to day file management;
  • Management of winding up applications and creditor petitions;
  • All forms of client correspondence including high level dictation;
  • Drafting and amending various court documents;
  • Liaising with clients, both internal and external and service providers;
  • End of month billing;
  • Providing assistance and guidance to support staff as needed; and
  • General administrative duties of the division such as diary and file management e.g. filing, bring ups, opening and archiving files.

Requirements

The successful applicant will possess the following:

  • Previous experience in a debt recovery paralegal role;
  • Experience within personal and corporate debt recovery;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • A high level of motivation and enthusiasm;
  • A high level of focus and attention to detail;
  • A team player attitude; and
  • Strong organisation skills, together with the capacity to manage conflicting priorities simultaneously.

Familiarity with iManage and Practice Evolve would be considered advantageous.
