The Mark Agency are looking for a top-class writer who knows social media with an eye for content creation to join the team.

Someone who loves working across various industries as well as being passionate about writing as their craft. Someone who can write in authentic bespoke language for every client’s unique identity and their communities. 

You must be proactive and have exceptional writing skills. You’ll need to know what content works across different social platforms and be able to adapt to writing for different brands. You must understand what Tone of Voice works for different brands and be able to identify which audience you are talking to with a piece of content. You need to understand the importance of interacting directly with consumers.

Experience of working to tight deadlines, community management and a knowledge of social platforms are a must, along with feeling confident about speaking to clients.

As part of this role, you’ll be working on some large agency portfolio brands and creating copy that will be seen nationally and globally. Working alongside our creative and design team, you’ll have the opportunity to deliver ideas worth talking about in a vibrant and collaborative environment. 

Main responsibilities 

  • Craft consistently brilliant copy for distribution across social media channels, digital campaigns and wider digital platforms where required. 
  • Handle the day-to-day community management for brands and engage with the community across multiple channels. 
  • Maintain monthly content planning calendars and publishing toolkits for multiple clients. 
  • Be a guardian of your clients’ tone of voice - ensuring the quality of copy and content remains high across all accounts you are responsible for. 
  • Monitor key campaign metrics and optimise content and creative based on audience insights.
  • Finding story hooks and insights for your client portfolio
  • Contribution to wider communication projects within the department including but not limited to PR and website content. 
  • Creation of content calendars and content laydowns. 
  • Support Creative Strategist and Planning teams in creating content strategies (e.g. ideas and copywriting)
  • Create digital campaign messaging and creative to shape behaviour and drive leads. 
  • Work with the design team and brief in content creation aligning to the content calendar. 
  • Look at ways to grow client portfolios. 

What are we looking for? 

  • A positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Experience in publishing or journalism preferred 
  • High level of proactivity; someone who is creative, outgoing and passionate about writing. 
  • Someone who has exceptional attention to detail and editing experience.
  • Demonstrable experience of writing social copy for a variety of brands. 
  • Someone with the ability to interpret brand Tone of Voice and the different audiences our brands are trying to reach. 
  • A flair for storytelling across multiple social platforms. 
  • Demonstrable community management experience 
  • Someone who is good at receiving feedback and working to tight deadlines. 
  • Good social platform knowledge Facebook, Instagram and Linkedin showing understanding of the ever-changing social content best practices on each. Experience using content scheduling platforms is desirable. 
  • Someone with the flexibility to work in a reactive way.
