Newly created Business Development Manager role with a company providing services into Tier 2 Building & Construction companies.

Your new company

Is an organisation that provide services to the building industry through developing relationships with builders and major contractors, tendering to provide their services on new build and remedial construction projects.

Your new role

Will be to join in a newly created role as Business Development Manager. The organisation currently has a strong presence in Commercial and Residential Construction in Sydney, mostly with Tier 2 Builders of new builds but they also do some remedial / modernisation work.

Your brief as the newly appointed Business Development Manager will be three-fold;

  • Firstly to maximise the existing revenue performance of the company across their core market; expanding their market share by developing stronger relationships with Tier 2 Builders and Contractors, getting the opportunity to tender on more projects and convert a high percentage of tenders into wins and revenue lines.
  • Secondly to assist the business in broadening the geographical reach of the organisation, by pipe-lining business in Newcastle and Canberra, then expand into VIC and QLD.
  • Thirdly the organisation is also looking to press for further diversification of the client base by targeting Civil & Infrastructure work as well as Mining & Resources in a addition to the existing Commercial and Residential customer base.

What you'll need to succeed

The company are looking for a proven business development professional from aligned serviced based organisations that operate in the Building & Construction industry, selling to business owners, major builders and contractors.

You will preferably bring with you experience working in a professional corporate sales environment for a company that provide a service solution, with a strong understanding of the construction industry.

Coming from the corporate background, the successful candidate needs to be comfortable joining a smaller business whereby they will be very hands on, outbound sales and client facing role, winning work and developing new relationships.
