Educational Consultant - Clinical Development

We are looking for a person who will play an important role in providing consultation on a range of educational matters to staff in NSLHD Mental Health Drug and Alcohol Services; in order to support the delivery of educationally sound professional development for staff across the service. This role is primarily based at Macquarie campus however, will travel across all sites.

Remuneration: $59.17 - $60.65 per hour

Nurse Educator Grade 2: $59.34 - $60.53 per hour

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them
  2. Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or eligibility for membership of AASW and relevant post registration education qualifications, or qualifications deemed equivalent; demonstrated clinical experience in MHDA including education experience within a MHDA context. Speech Pathologist must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in speech pathology which provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer
  3. Demonstrated leadership skills including effective interpersonal skills, communication, relationship and team building, negotiation and conflict resolution, and the ability to promote change in a positive way through education
  4. Demonstrated educational capability, with experience and commitment to developing and influencing both clinical and leadership development and a positive workplace culture through the implementation and evaluation of professional development frameworks and programs
  5. Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to research and write reports and other business documents
  6. Demonstrated computer literacy with the ability to use appropriate computer applications such as Microsoft Office, ClinConnect and My Health Learning
  7. Recognised skills and expertise in workplace training, with demonstrated experience in assessment skills and feedback , group presentation and facilitation skills and skills and a commitment to coaching, mentoring and educating staff who support learners
  8. Full drivers licence and willingness to travel across the LHD
