What you'll be doing

The Operation Assistant works within the team environment to maintain the highest standards of support necessary to facilitate the movement and care of patients within the operating theatre.

Selection Criteria

  1. Excellent communication skills, including good comprehension, confidence in the spoken word and ability to deal courteously with people at all levels.
  2. Demonstrated ability to work in, and be part of a multidisciplinary team.
  3. Demonstrated ability to follow directions, show initiative and use effective problem solving skills when performing tasks.
  4. Demonstrated ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.
  5. Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  6. Capacity to work under broad supervision and to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective member of a team in a high pressure, high volume work environment.
  7. Ability to perform the physical demands of this position, such as push, or pull mobile waste bins, patient beds and trolleys frequently.
  8. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
