Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions. We work with several government agencies to coordinate road, rail, bus and maritime services, always keeping the safety and comfort of our customers at the heart of what we do.

The opportunity

Right now, we have a number of opportunities for a Learning Design Officer to join our team within our Insights and Engagement Branch, Safety, Environment and Regulation (SER) Division. Working within the Engagement & Education Unit you will create and deliver high quality, innovative, engaging, and effective learning solutions and products to ensure our stakeholders, business partners and customers have the knowledge and capability to meet the Agency’s safety and sustainability objectives.

What you will be involved in:

  • Design highly interactive and engaging learning content that integrates sound learning theories and best practice instructional design and e-learning methodologies.
  • Liaise with internal business units to identify their learning needs and provide quality learning products to help achieve business objectives.
  • Evaluate and continuously improve technical and soft skills training to a variety of audiences to ensure expected outcomes and behaviours are achieved.

About you:

You are a creative Learning Designer with experience in coordinating end-to-end learning deliverables. You will have technical writing skills that allows you to interpret procedural information into engaging, quality and sustainable learning products. You have an ability to tailor learning solution approaches, work with video content and maintain process and activity documentation by applying a range of learning design frameworks and methodologies.

You are able to work autonomously and stay focused on day to day work priorities, a team player who is able to communicate and negotiate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, demonstrate a great work ethic, feel confident on prioritising issues, completing priorities and meet deadlines within your work.

Salary and benefits

The salary for this position is a Grade 7A ($103,965) – 7E ($116,441) per annum, plus superannuation and leave loading.
