My client has a diverse range of contracts and specialises within Commercial, Infrastructures, Residential in the heart of Melbourne CBD. This consultancy is one of the highest regarded specialist consultancies which is how they have retained such a loyal client base over the years. This multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy have a strong market reputation for being innovative, progressive and at the forefront of their field. Having recently expanded their Civil project portfolio, they are now seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join the team.

Your new role

  • Assist in the preparation of high quality, best practice, environmentally sensitive engineering concept plans, detailed design plans, documentation for Civil Engineering projects, including specifications, cost estimates and tender submissions.
  • All designs achieved meet prescribed standards, conditions and quality assurance procedures and are completed within allocated/agreed time frames.
  • The Civil Engineer has the authority to carry out tasks in accordance with the responsibilities detailed within this Position Description and as per the direction of the Civil Manager or Principal.
  • Monitor projects delivery ensuring on time and within budget.
  • Advise Civil Manager of cost overruns and if they believe additional work is being or may need to be undertaken.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum of 3 years design experience in designing and documentation of Civil
  • Demonstrated experience in the design of relevant projects including:

    − Road & Drainage Design
    − Bulk Earthwork Design
    − Stormwater & Flood Analysis
    − Pavement Design
    − Vehicle Turning Path Design

  • Competent in the use of AutoCAD, 12D, Drains, Music 6, Hec-Ras, Circly 6, Vehicle Tracking, Microsoft Office, Australian Standards, AR&R, Austroads, ARQ, WSUD, Local Government Design Manuals
  • Understanding of relevant Australian Standards, State and Local Government policies and guidelines.
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge and application of Civil engineering codes, construction standards, specs, procedures and construction techniques.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Class C Drivers License.
