Looking for an Electrical Engineer to join a multidisciplinary company for a min 3/6 months based in Altona:

Your new company
A leading consultancy providing multidisciplinary engineering design, project and construction management services to the Refining, Oil & Gas, Defence, Mining, Water, Rail, Power and Process Manufacturing industries.

Your new role

  • Electrical design with High Voltage switchboards is essential.
  • Preparation of engineering design documents, specifications, drawings and scopes of work on time and within budget to meet project deadlines for assigned work packages.
  • Production of calculations required for the role that support design documentation.
  • Participation in HAZOPs & design reviews.
  • Checking & approval of discipline documents.
  • Checking of interdisciplinary documents for compliance to client requirements and industry standards.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A strong understanding of electrical engineering documentation including single line diagrams, schematics, termination drawings, protection drawings, P&ID's, etc.
  • Minimum five years relevant experience in electrical engineering design, covering proposal preparation, conceptual engineering, FEED, detailed engineering and commissioning/operations.
  • An understanding and experience in application of relevant industry, Australian standards and codes.
  • Experience with power distribution design, including earthing and protection systems.
  • Experience in the use of industry standard engineering software and LV/HV electrical network modelling.
  • Permanent Residency of Australia.

The following are preferred but not essential:

  • NER and/or RPEQ registration in Electrical.
  • Experience working with Hydrocarbon.
  • Competency in hazardous area classification and design to AS/NZS 4761.
  • Experience with AutoCAD/ETAP
  • Experience with ASP3 design.
