Leading SE Council seeks facilities officer for ASAP start, two month contract, servicing council hubs.

Your new company

A leading local council in the inner suburbs of Melbourne has a short term temporary requirement for a civic facilities officer to assist them in various communities’ hubs for their council. This organisation prides themselves on their community values and is a very inclusive council.

Council plays an important role in contributing to life in your community by providing many of the services and facilities that residents of all ages access every day. Council provides traditional local government services like local roads, waste management, and planning, building and animal control. But beyond this we provide much more. We work with residents from new born babies, to young people, families and our senior citizens.

Your new role

This role will run for two months full time, with the possibility of extension.

Day to day you will:

  • Coordinate the day to day operations and stakeholders of the Hills Hub Facility
  • To provide facility management, including the day to day operations of Hills Hub Community Facility in Emerald Provide a first point of contact for people, professionals and community groups wanting to use the space in the Hub
  • Manage the day to day operations of the Hub facility
  • Maintain key/swipe card register
  • Ensure Hills Hub Facility procedure manuals and evacuation plans are adhered to and kept up to date
  • Ensure facility induction have been completed for staff and community groups providing programs/activities from Hub Facility
  • Ensure that building maintenance and/or safety issues are responded to in a timely manner
  • Provide accurate and relevant information to community groups, site users and the general public via telephone and personal enquiries

What you'll need to succeed

  • Prior Hospitality or Events Experience
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • Some exposure to facilities management eg helpdesk
  • A proven background in hospitality and high volume customer facing roles
  • Highly effective communication skills
  • Works well in a team environment and actively participates in team discussion
  • Displays a positive hands-on approach to the role with a strong desire to succeed
  • An ability to systemise, implement and enforce procedures
  • Displays a passion for superior customer service and an attention to detail
  • You must be willing to get a WWCC card prior to commencement also
