About this opportunity

WA Health continues to ensure it is prepared for the WA COVID-19 vaccine roll out of as part of the continued response to COVID-19 in Western Australia.

As part of this preparation, the WA Health system is enhancing its workforce capacity by establishing COVID-19 vaccination recruitment pools. This allows WA Health to establish a workforce that can be called upon as needed to make s afe and effective COVID-19 vaccines available to all West Australians.

We are seeking expressions of interest from qualified registered nurses, midwives and enrolled nurses with a variety of experience for fixed term, full-time and part-time appointments located throughout the Perth metropolitan and Western Australia's regional areas.

Previous vaccination or immunisation experience and/or training is desirable but not essential.

Appropriate training will be provided to ensure a safe, high quality and effective delivery of the COVID-19 vaccinations to the WA population.

Opportunities exist to perform the following vaccination clinic roles/duties:

  • Clinical Lead in the vaccination clinics
  • Vaccinator
  • Vaccination Preparation
  • Medical Screening and Consent
  • Post Vaccination Observation

In addition to the vaccination clinic roles, there may be a possibly of training and shifts in the following areas:
  • COVID-19 testing clinics
  • Contact tracing
  • PPE fit testing

Please note, if you applied and were made successful to other COVID-19 recruitment pools then you do not need to apply, as previous COVID-19 recruitment pools are still open, and your application remains active.

Further information about this position

Appointment to the pools will be made on your written application and may not require an interview.

As part of WA Health's state-wide response to the COVID-19 pandemic, appointments from the recruitment pools will be made if and when required.

Appointments from the pools will be made on a fixed term, casual, full-time, part-time, or sessional basis up until 31 December 2021.

Applicants may need to be available and prepared to commence work at short notice.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used for the WA COVID-19 vaccination recruitment pools, it may also be used to appoint applicants, assessed as suitable during this selection process, to the same or other similar temporary positions across WA Health for up to 12 months.
