The IT Support Officer is in charge of providing the face to face and phone support for all onsite users, providing high level service and showing a continuous customer service attitude, representing the IT department in all communications ensures that all requests are forwarded to the proper execution level and all operational activities are executed or escalated.

My client is an internationally recognised beauty company. Distributing cosmetics, fragrances, nail care, skin care, and both retail and professional hair care products.


  • Support infrastructure related work, acts as local competence for all local infrastructure related activities, also as local hands for 3rd party competence services (networks, server or storage maintenance, database or VMware service, etc)
  • Ensure overall IT systems stability and provide support and solution when necessary
  • Acts as first response and escalates according to policies and best practices
  • Run and communicate local technical service desk and support operation
  • Participates in follow the sun incident resolution if needed
  • Work closely with peers, global and regional, local outsourcers, participates actively and jump into gaps if identified
  • Support telecommunications (fixed and mobile) and audio-visual (AV) systems, meeting room setup and network configuration (e.g. patching)
  • Monitor daily administration and troubleshooting for computer equipment, servers, LAN/WAN/Riverbed and provide hands-on troubleshooting support as required
  • Follows licence renewals, contract discussions
  • Document and standardise IT policies, procedures, practices and documentation
  • Support the IT manager as needed and contribute to specific projects and implementation
  • Follows the IT governance process
  • Ensure necessary training, education and support is provided to end users
  • Consult, collaborate and establish effective networks with key global IT teams and groups
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of new and changing IT developments
  • Manage relationship with outsourcer and third party providers


  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills
  • Capable of establishing influential and collaborative relationships at various organisational levels
  • Very high level service attitude
  • Ability to execute under stress
  • Hands on, able to resolve incidents on site as well as remote
  • Project management skills and experience.
  • Ability to deal patiently with both internal and external customers alike with the possibility of getting their hands dirty in the process
  • A pro-active team player capable of supporting a high level of operational activity with a 'hands on' management style including some travel (domestic and international) to work with IT Management and the positions peers
  • VMWare, virtualization, Netapp/EMC storage, backup, networking
