About The Role

Randstad is now recruiting for experienced theatre technicians. This southern based cultural centre is one of Adelaide’s leading venues for all performances, functions and events. Located in the City of Marion, the Marion Cultural Centre boasts a modern venue that hosts all performances from theatre, cabaret, comedy and dance.

You will provide technical and production services with a key focus on delivering high quality theatre shows, events and productions within the MCC and adhoc external Council sites. Strong communication skills and ability to maintain solid relationships (with internal and external) stakeholders will be vital to this role. You will be responsible for delivering the best service to our community and to improve residents’ quality of life; continuously, smartly and efficiently in the scope of your daily work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide quality technical and production services to the Cultural Centre hirers, clients and internal customers including lighting, sound and audio-visual console operation.
  • Ensuring that operation and maintenance of all technical and stage equipment is in accordance with the relevant industry standards and safe work practices.
  • The application of high quality customer service with efficient and effective processes.
  • Contributing to team planning in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support team members with venue hire and ticket sales.
  • Comply with existing Work, Health and Safety legislation and regulation obligations and apply “Think Safe Live Well” philosophy.

Skills & Experience
  • Certificate III or Diploma in Live Production, Theatre and Events or demonstrated experience as a theatre technician (desirable) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience in Test and Tag electrical equipment.
  • Yellow Card (Elevated work platforms).
  • Willingness to obtain a Responding to Abuse and Neglect Certificate and a Working with Children Check.
  • Willingness and availability to work across a seven day roster including weekends and after hours.
