Role: Senior Policy Adviser, Engagement Campaigns (until 31 Decemeber 2021)

Position Summary:

The COVID-vac group is responsible for managing and coordinating the roll-out of the COVID-19 vaccination to the state of Victoria. Operating as a dynamic multi-disciplinary team, the group will work closely with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver an effective and efficient immunisation campaign.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide advice and guidance to the development of the COVID-vac call centre processes and scripts
  • Manage issues, queries and barriers to create a streamlined experience for those accessing vaccination
  • Develop process and user journeys
  • Develop and maintain relationships with health services to ensure they are supported to stand up new sites and create journeys for vaccination appointments
  • Demonstrate how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impact clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.
  • Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
  • Provide authoritative advice and sound policy recommendations to senior management and government based on comprehensive research.
  • Assist in the management of outbound immunisation campaigns.
  • Collate qualitative and quantitative feedback, prepare and present comprehensive reports.
  • Pro-actively build and maintain effective working relationships and facilitate the flow of information across the department and with key external stakeholders.
  • Manage stakeholders through effective negotiation and influence.
  • Maintain an understanding of Local Public Health Units (LPHU's) operating processes and contribute to process improvements.
  • Represent the department on key stakeholder committees and groups concerned with achieving government and departmental objectives, lead relevant committee and governance processes.
  • Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
  • Provide guidance and training support to the team as required.
  • Contribute advanced expertise and knowledge to benefit strategic planning and organisation/sector-wide outcomes.
  • Other tasks as required.
