Programmed Skilled Workforce, in partnership with TRONOX is looking for a driven and motivated Resource Processing Trainee who is willing to undertake a Certificate III in Resource Processing which will be delivered over a 24 month period.

Tronox is a fully integrated titanium minerals producer and pigment manufacturer. At our operations in Western Australia, we extract and process rich mineral sands into a range of valuable products which are exported to international markets.

Our sites based in Kwinana, Chandala, Cooljarloo, Australind, North Shore and Kemerton are all within 2 hours drive of Perth as well as our Dry mill operation site Gingko based at the Murry Basin NSW. The sites form part of the global operations of Tronox Limited, one of the world's largest producers of titanium dioxide pigment, with a global customer base.

Who we're looking for:

It's important you're willing to learn and develop your skills over this traineeship and have a good attitude and strong work ethic. You will be willing to work as part of an experienced team, under close supervision and also at times independently.

In addition, you will;

  • Have excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills
  • Have great attention to detail and good problem solving skills
  • Have the ability to meet strict deadlines and cooperate with others
  • Be punctual, reliable and presentable
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge and understanding of relevant workplace health and safety requirements
  • Successfully completed secondary education
  • Have a current drivers licence and reliable transport
  • Successfully pass pre-employment background checks, medical, drug and alcohol screening and site inductions

Skills and Experience

To be successful, you will meet the following criteria:

  • Completion of Secondary Schooling (Minimum)
  • Ability to work a rostered 9/day fortnight - 5 day on/2 days off and 4 days on/3 days off (8.444 hours/day)
  • Have a basic mechanical understanding
  • A current WA driver's licence and own transport
  • Strong commitment to safety and driven work ethic
  • The ability to pass a pre-employment medical and regular drug & alcohol screening tests.
  • Physically fit, prepared to work in physically demanding work place
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Software
  • Exposure to Distributed Control Systems (DCS) (Desirable)


Located in Cooljarloo, TRONOX's Cooljarloo Mine Site that mine the heavy mineral concentrates using dredging techniques. The trainee will assist the Production Engineer with metallurgical checks and investigations as well as carry out planned operational maintenance tasks.

Please note, this position is residential/local, however employees are also offered accommodation at the newly constructed mine's camp which is approximately 10kms south of the Mine
