Job Description

The Gig

This is your chance to join a team of forward-thinking, change-making individuals transforming healthcare experiences. Operating at the intersection of two fast-growing industries – health and tech – you’ll play an active role in shaping the future of healthcare in Australia.

Reporting to the General Counsel, this exciting new contract role of Legal Counsel will be responsible for identifying and managing key legal risks across the business, including general commercial, privacy, regulatory compliance, licencing and marketing. This role will also be responsible for advising senior leaders on all legal matters, and ensuring there are user friendly systems and processes in place to manage risks.


  • Proactively identify areas of major legal risk for the business.
  • Draft, review and negotiate legal contracts.
  • Advise on and manage key compliance risks across the business.
  • Advise on product development and promote privacy by design principles.
  • Develop and implement systems, processes and templates for the ongoing management of legal and compliance matters.
  • Advise on capital raisings and acquisitions.
  • Provide training to employees on legal and compliance related matters.
  • Communicate and negotiate with external stakeholders (e.g. regulators, Government bodies, etc).
About You

You are proactive with an ability to prioritise and close the loop on high risks issues quickly and effectively, with a high attention to detail. You have excellent communication and engagement skills, with the ability to challenge, collaborate and influence key decision makers. You are adaptable, and thrive in fast paced work environments, with conflicting priorities and demanding workloads. Above all else, you seek to build trust, be honest and work with integrity.


You’ll Bring
  • Law degree and current practising certificate with the ability to work in Western Australia
  • +5 years experience in a law firm or recognised corporate in-house team
  • Working knowledge of the Privacy Act (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principles
  • Experience in information technology preferable
Additional Information

We are looking for a Legal Counsel to join us on a part time basis at three (3) days per week, for an initial 6-month contract.
