About The Team

The New Verticals Team is accountable for piloting, launching and scaling Uber Eats' new categories, including Grocery, Convenience, Alcohol, and others. As part of the team's continued push into non-restaurant categories, Uber Eats is looking for an outstanding operations analyst and automations engineer to identify and build scalable solutions to difficult business challenges.

About The Role

This new role will drive impactful process improvements across the full lifecycle of a New Verticals merchant on Uber Eats. This will range from the acquisition of merchants, through to growth processes, compliance improvements and range optimisation. The right candidate will do this by identifying inefficiencies and opportunities through analytics, and bringing to life a solution through excellent problem solving and technical skills.\

Your work will support improving the customer experience, efficiency of teams and growth of the platform. Beyond automations, process builds and optimisations, this role will also drive standalone and repeat analytics to drive further growth and geo insights. This will include analysis to identify the best action an Account Manager could take, tools to prevent partner churn or measurement of the impact of operational improvements you develop.

As the best approach is developed, the opportunity to scale solutions across the global portfolio to drive expanded impact will increase.

What You'll Do

  • Build the future-state process for product ranges for all New Verticals Merchants, including:
  • Build a complete database of items by category.
  • Develop an automated process that can push item updates to all merchants as we add richer information to the database.
  • Unlock and build reporting on SKU ranges, photography and performance to drive merchandising efforts on the platform.
  • Automate onboarding steps/bespoke processes for a high volume of New Vertical merchants.
  • Create analysis and reporting for the most ambitious problems & opportunities and set up A/B testing to drive improvements on problems you are solving.
  • Deliver ongoing improvements to range, compliance, efficiency, growth, platform investment and marketing opportunities through excellent process design, automations, product knowledge and analytics.

  • What You'll Need
    • You'll have 5+ years of analytical and automations experience in a dynamic environment.
    • You have previously delivered outstanding results to the most complex business problems through insights from complex data.
    • You will have experience in Python, SQL and one or more of the following programming languages (R, Java, Javascript, C#).
    • Data-engineering, architecture and API integration experience are key to success in this role.
    • Able to identify key problems and their solution. Understand how all the moving parts of our business and the multiple parties interact to generate the best outcome.
    • You are able to run and deliver end-to-end projects with autonomy.
    • The drive to 'get into the weeds' and have a continuous improvement mentality.
    • Being in the detail and deeply understanding all aspects of the merchant experience, you'll be best placed to guide and/or execute on improvement opportunities.
