JOB DESCRIPTION

The Asset Management Directorate at Western Australia Police Force (WA Police Force) is a dynamic and vibrant place to work. The Directorate is a key ‘enabler’ for the WA Police Force. In this role you will help support front line policing by facilitating the ongoing replacement of the 90,000 pieces of equipment WA Police Force use.

We are looking for a team player with a strong customer focus, well organised, great communication skills and an eye for detail.

Think this is you? Then we look forward to your application.

This is a pool recruitment process (Ref 00434). This pool will run for a period of 12 months and may be used to fill ongoing fixed term contracts, secondments, acting/relieving and permanent opportunities (full and part time).

The Asset Management Directorate currently has one (1) full time permanent opportunity available.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

This position undertakes the planning for the replacement of asset equipment for the WA Police Force. Analyses asset equipment data to determine replacement requirements and liaises with key stakeholders to develop a replacement schedule. Contributes to the development of key planning documents and works within a constructive team environment to achieve successful outcomes for the WA Police Force.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Please ensure you complete, sign and scan the Integrity Check Consent Form (refer attached) and submit it along with your application (the integrity check consent form is not required for current WA Police Force employees).

Applicants are asked to address the following nominated work related requirements in no more than two (2) pages: * Planning skills – Formulating, researching, planning and developing strategy and plans. Knowledge of current asset equipment management issues and trends, policies and procedures and relevant regulations. Understanding requirements and principles to ensure compliance with the State Supply Commission Act 1991 and Financial Management Act 2006.

  • Analytical and conceptual skills – Comparing and contrasting detailed information, foreseeing consequences and recommending strategic solutions.
Applicants are also required to submit a Comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV). Your CV should provide enough detail (dot points are sufficient) to allow the selection panel to assess your skills, experience and qualifications relevant to the Key Accountabilities of the attached Position Description Form.

The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant’s ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work Related Requirements. Applicants should nominate at least one immediate (most contemporary) supervisor/manager unless exceptional circumstances exist.

Please note: For applicants deemed suitable, all Essential Work Related Requirements listed in the Position Description Form will be assessed at some stage during the selection process.

OTHER CONDITIONS

In addition to this vacancy, a POOL is being created to fill future vacancies that may arise within the metropolitan area. This POOL will remain active for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial appointment. Applicants who are assessed as ‘suitable’ at the completion of this process, will be placed in the POOL and may be considered for future permanent and temporary vacancies as they become available.

Once an applicant within the POOL accepts a permanent vacancy offer within the metropolitan area, that applicant will be removed from the POOL. Applicants who accept a temporary vacancy will remain in the POOL.

Integrity and criminal checks will be conducted if the recommended applicant for this position is not a current WA Police Force employee. Any relocation costs associated with appointment to this position may be the responsibility of the successful applicant.
