What you'll be doing

The NSW STI Programs Unit leads state-wide strategic direction and implementation of the Ministry of Healths (MoH) NSW STI and HIV Strategies. The position oversees a range of Programs which lead work in general practice STI management, reorientation of NSW public sexual health services, working across other setting to increase HIV testing, increasing community knowledge about STI prevention, testing and treatment and coordination of statewide websites and campaigns. The Unit manager will be highly experienced in health program management and undertake operational, budget and planning activities. The Manger will supervise Program staff, administration officer and a Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) to undertake individual Program work and develop and maintain partnerships with government, non-government and community organisations

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in population health or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated high level state-wide program management skills including a proven record of achievement in budget management, strategic planning and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated consulting negotiating and influencing skills with the ability to interact constructively with senior Ministry of Health staff, and a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with a state-wide wide view of health care provision and management of competing priorities to deliver high quality health outcomes and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Sexually Transmitted infections, HIV, related conditions and health promotion practice.
  • Demonstrated high level organisational skills with the ability to use judgement to make management decisions and take initiatives through delegated responsibilities to improve efficiency and delivery of outcomes across NSW.
  • Demonstrated experience in working effectively with and developing collaborative partnerships with government, non-government, private and community partnerships.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills
