The Company

Programmed Industrial Maintenance is leading provider of Industrial Maintenance solutions to the manufacturing, FMCG, petro-chemical, ports and power generation industries that are customer focused and strive for Zero Harm.

The Opportunity

Programmed Industrial Maintenance is seeking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join our team based in Sydney. Reporting directly to the NSW General Manager and working closely with the NSW Regional Managers and their management teams, this role will play a key role supporting the team in a safe working environment aligned to the corporate strategy and maintain relationships across the operations level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the estimating process, by contributing to and bringing together the pricing, documentation and stakeholders/ consultants, vendors and partner input.
  • Utilise the estimating tools to generate estimates in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Undertake site inspections when required
  • Taking the lead estimating role when required and managing and mentoring supporting estimators in the regional offices.
  • Ensure the tender process, including estimate reviews, are correctly followed and when requested, conduct peer reviews on estimates
  • Ensure a disciplined and consistent approach is taken in regards to pricing and margin control in line with Company authority levels.
  • Liaise with the regional business units to develop and deliver competitive winning estimates
  • Actively participates in job handover from estimation to operations.
  • Seeks out opportunities to tender project and outage work through client sales calls and Tender sites
Skills, Experience and Attributes
  • 5+ years' experience in estimating structural steel and piping fabrication; field installation; maintenance and shutdown activities.
  • Previous experience in heavy manufacturing, petro-chemical, utility and power generation industries
  • Engineering or Trade qualified
  • C Class Drivers Licence
  • Expert skills in spreadsheet/database usage
  • Intermediate skills in MS Project
  • The ability to work autonomously as well as part of a broader team
  • Demonstrated client and supplier relationships management skills
  • Be able to manage multiple tenders and prioritize.
