What you'll be doing

The role will involve the provision of psychological and neuropsychological assessment and treatment services to adult and older adult clients of the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD).

Wollongong Hospital is the Illawarra and Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has bed base of more than 500. The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.

Selection Criteria:

  • Full or provisional registration as a psychologist with the AHPRA Psychology Board of Australia.
  • A two-year full-time equivalent accredited postgraduate Masters Degree or Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology, or completing same.
  • Experience with: a) Psychological assessment and intervention for clients with illness and/or disability and b) Neuropsychological assessment and intervention for clients with illness and/or disability.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved patient and/or consumer care and outcomes.
  • Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrate these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our clients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  • Current NSW Class C driver’s licence.
