The CCLHD Social Work Department is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our Gosford Inpatient Social Work service to provide assessment and intervention to patients, families and carers of the Emergency Department.

This position specialises in crisis psychosocial assessment and counselling to assist patients and their carers to deal with the emotional impact of illness and crises and to undertake case planning, liaison and advocacy and referral to ensure access to appropriate community services.

The social worker is to work closely with interdisciplinary colleagues and senior managers within the hospital to ensure the development and delivery of effective and pro-active social work services and psychosocial care.

The social worker will be expected to be active in the areas of service development, supervision, service evaluation and multidisciplinary staff and student teaching.

What you'll be doing

To provide a professional social work service to patients and their family/carers to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes for patients. This position will work within a dedicated interdisciplinary team and with the other inpatient social workers to deliver high quality care in a dynamic team environment. The position is primarily based in the Emergency Department and is part of the hospital inpatient social work team. As a senior clinician, the social worker is required to demonstrate clinical specialty, provide supervision to Level 1-2 social work staff and provide clinical leadership within the inpatient social work team and Emergency Department
