Position Information

The Hills Sports High School (Years 7-12) has a total enrolment of 900 students, 6% from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds. It is a comprehensive high school with an elite sporting stream, catering to both local students and those enrolled in the Talented Sports Program. The school is committed to a learning culture that values academic and sporting excellence. A support unit caters to a total of 56 students. Extensive partnerships exist with community organisations and associations.

The school has a dedicated staff focused on quality teaching and the use of data to inform teaching and learning. The Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) program is a feature of our school and teachers are currently focusing on embedding formative assessment and differentiation strategies into teaching and learning programs and practices. Collaborative and formal school planning and evaluation processes are also central to the operation of the school.

Selection Criteria

  1. Approval to teach and demonstrated experience in teaching Personal Development, Health and Physical Education 7-12, Community and Family Studies.
  2. Capacity to deliver high quality learning programs and assessment which engage and support students with diverse learning needs.
  3. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of the PDHPE faculty and actively contribute to whole school initiatives.
  4. Demonstrated organisational skills in coordinating extracurricular programs such as whole school sport.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
