FINANCE OFFICER – (Accounts Payable)

Armidale Regional Council is seeking a motivated Finance Officer to join their Finance team. Reporting to the Manager Financial Services, this position is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing and payment of suppliers and associating reconciliations, reports and returns in accordance with legislation and Council policy. This position is also required to undertake other duties as required within the Financial Services section during periods of staff leave.

To succeed you will need:

  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience in a similar role.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the operation and utilisation of accounts payable IT systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a small team and contribute to achieving organisational objectives.
  • Well developed personal competencies, including effective communication skills (written, verbal and non-verbal), ability to negotiate for outcomes, sound decision making skills and demonstrated commitment to consultation and engagement.
  • Current valid Driver’s Licence.

This is a full time role that currently provides a salary range from $1164.39 to $1339.38 per week (plus superannuation) dependent upon the successful application qualifications and experience, along with the opportunity to work a 9 day fortnight.
