Company Overview

IKM Measurement Services Australia is a subdivision of the IKM Group and are a specialist service provider to the global marine, oil & gas and resources industry.

Specialising in calibration services from a NATA Accredited Laboratory as well as mobilisation to customer assets offshore, IKM Measurement Services Australia is also a supplier for test instruments and rental of measurement equipment for the oil & gas sector.

The Role

As the Senior Instrument Technician, the candidate will have experience in completing instrument calibrations and testing, with accurate and timely documentation. They are expected to take a proactive role in supporting the team and in providing client support to build a high level of trust with internal and client personnel. This trust is developed through consistently upholding IKM Values and demonstrating honesty, integrity, pride, accountability, teamwork, and commitment. The Senior Instrument Technician must also be prepared to work offshore and on site when required.

Candidate Requirements

Strong understanding of Testing and Calibration of various instruments and systems across the Oil & Gas, Mining and Marine Industries.

· Minimum Cert IV in Instrumentation

· Extensive knowledge of a range of test equipment - standard operation, maintenance, failure points, risk mitigation.

· Understanding and an awareness of safety requirements and safe practices.

· Understanding of ISO, MSA, NATA Requirements and Standards.

· Previous experience with managing small projects.

· Reliable, confident, eager to learn and enjoy working with people.

· Able to make independent decisions within defined scope of work, motivated to seek clarification and directions when needed.

· Must be self-driven and demonstrate ability to work with little direction.

· Displays good organizational skills and upholds housekeeping requirements.

· Effective communication and problem-solving skills with clients and co-workers both written and verbal.

· Minimum basic skills in MS Office suite with demonstrated competency in the use of a database.

· Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.

· Must be an Australian Resident.

· Previous experience with Pressure and Temperature Calibrations and PRV Testing preferred.


· Completes calibrations and documentation in a safe, timely, and accurate manner whilst following IKM and client specific policies and proposals.

· Responsible for proper handling and maintenance of IKM and client equipment, including testing and maintenance of standard in-house equipment.

· Identifies project supply and equipment needs and conveys to the appropriate resource to ensure availability.

· Works to understand client needs and requirements through effective communication and develops client relationships through excellent customer service. Ensures client requests are managed by themselves or if necessary, are conveyed to the appropriate IKM management resource.

· Capable of managing small projects with subcontractor and customer collaboration.

· On average, 80-85% of work time will be utilized completing calibration and maintenance events.

· Will be required to work on-site and off-shore

· Always considers safety when executing tasks and projects. Ensures that IKM work areas are safe, neatly organized and professional on-site and in an office environment.

· Is attune to potential new opportunities for IKM when at a client site or interacting with a client and relays this lead back to Leader/Manager.

· Provides effective solutions to client needs and requirements.

· Develops basic quotes or proposals and assists with development of complex proposals.

· Comfortable dealing with all levels of management and clients.

· Will be required to be familiar with all IKM service offerings and is comfortable exploring potential leads while at client sites.

Additional Qualifications and Experience Preferred

· WA Electrical Licence

· Offshore Tickets: TBOSIET/BOSIET, OGUK Medical

· Cert IV Instrumentation

· Understanding of ISO 17025

· Forklift Licence
