About the role

The Supervisor Audit and Compliance reports to the Director, Legal and Assurance within the NSW RFS.

Leading a small team, and in collaboration with our audit provider, you will have carriage of the oversight, management and delivery of the NSW RFS’ internal audit program and assurance activities. You will also have a critical role to play in ensuring the RFS meets its compliance obligations, and be responsible for the development and delivery of an effective reporting framework for inquiries in which the NSW RFS is involved.

About you

You will have strong relationship management and influencing skills to effectively engage with stakeholders to build internal audit and compliance as an intrinsic part of the NSW RFS business. You are a great communicator, and have sound judgment and critical thinking capabilities. You can solve problems, prioritise and focus your work and lead your team in a constructive and collaborative way to achieve successful outcomes.

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent demonstrated experience is required.

Essential Requirements

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated relevant, equivalent and professional experience.
  • During periods of major fire activity, the incumbent may be required to support operational management activities consistent with their skills and background.

Key Knowledge and Experience

  • Professional experience in the co-ordination and delivery of internal audit, governance and compliance processes is desirable.
