Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 3 - Newborn Services

To be eligible to apply for this position the applicant must be a current employee of Hunter New England Local Health District or a current employee of Calvary Mater Newcastle.

Newborn Services provides level 5/6 Neonatal services to the Hunter New England District, and is the lead site in the Newborn Tiered network. The Clinical Nurse Consultant position works closely with the team in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, but also the services within HNE and Mid-North Coast that provides newborn and maternity care. We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced, proactive Clinical Nurse Consultant to join our skilled team on a full time basis!

About you:
The successful candidate will provide expert clinical consultancy and leadership throughout the district. You will be involved in the review, development and evaluation of clinical practice for neonatal care in collaboration with various key stakeholders and will be the lead in the review and development of clinical practice guidelines for NICU and the district. The successful candidate will also be the lead for the identification and implementation of educational programs for services across the district. A thorough handover period will be provided and you will be supported by the Manager Newborn Services and Head of Department (Medical).

About you:
The successful candidate will have extensive clinical experience and expertise in neonatal care. You will be driven and self-motivated with a demonstrated ability of complex analytical and problem-solving skills. You will possess high exceptional communication (both verbal and written) skills, and have the ability to identify opportunities for clinical practice change, and experience/knowledge in quality improvement projects, initiating and implementing change in the workplace.
