JOB DESCRIPTION

Business Need / Purpose of Role

To contribute and participate as an active member South Sales team (VIC, SA, TAS & NT) to achieve Weir Minerals Australia and Division objectives.

Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities

Objectives:

* Selection, specification, costing and quoting of Slurry Pumps and Valves to End User customers and Engineering Houses.
* Order entry into SAP system.
* Technical support to field sales personnel.
* Product training to internal personnel and customers.
* Attend customer sites to conduct product commissioning and troubleshooting.
* Manage warranty claims from start to closure.
* Achievement of individual and team KPI's (financial and non-financial).
* Maintain the opportunities pipeline up to date in business CRM system.
* Increasing overall customer satisfaction with Weir Minerals Australia.
* Fostering the development of new products and services.
* Improving the efficiency of the South Sales business unit.
* Identifying and acting upon opportunities in support to the business growth strategy.
* Communicating and facilitating market changes and trends.
* Ensuring the safety of yourself and other employees within WMA.
* Compliance with OHS & E (Regulatory and policy).

* People: Establish effective team and peer relationships.
* Financial: Input ≥ Slurry Pump & Valve budget.
* Lean: Manufacturing/5S and Office 5S > 80%.
* Compliance with Standard Operation Procedures.
* Provide engineering support and solutions for the Slurry Pumps & Valves team and other areas of the Company as required.
* Provide technical support for slurry pump and valve trials.
* Establishing effective relationships with clients - Client satisfaction (NPS): ≥8%
* Undertaking projects to improve business processes and eliminate waste.


Job knowledge / Other requirements

Education and/or Experience:
Previous technical sales experience, ideally some experience with the Mining, Minerals Processing, Power Generation and General Industrial market segments (customers, processes and competitors). Proven ability to demonstrate identification of opportunities, formulation of strategies and achievement of results. Desired tertiary qualifications in mechanical, chemical or process engineering.

Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, proposals, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite and SAP.

Physical Demands:
Car driving: For up to 7 hours per day
Travelling: On aircrafts, boats and to remote areas

Work Environment:
Moderate office environment with regular exposure to loud mine sites. Appropriate PPE should be worn in site and workshop environments.
