JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Community Justice Lead to manage and deliver programs for young people at risk of offending throughout the Logan area.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE DEMONSTRATED ABILITY TO LEAD AND MANAGE PROGRAMS, PROVIDE DIRECT SERVICES DELIVERY, SUPERVISION OF STAFF AND PARTNERSHIP LIAISON WITH ATSICHS AND A NUMBER OF GOVERNMENT AND NONGOVERNMENT AGENCIES. THE COMMUNITY JUSTICE LEAD IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ORGANISATION'S YOUTH JUSTICE PROGRAMS: COMMUNITY YOUTH RESPONSE AND SMART (SPECIALISED MULTI AGENCY RESPONSE TEAMS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver effective intervention through case management and outreach with young people.
  • Achieve great client outcomes by partnering with other organisations.
  • Understanding of the factors that contribute to young people becoming involved in the Youth Justice System.
  • Lead and influence a positive workplace culture in line with the organisation's values
  • Experience in responding to young people with substance use is highly desirable.
  • More specific Key Responsibilities available if shortlisted.
To Be Successful
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (Degree in relevant discipline) and/or experience are essential. Relevant Tertiary qualifications within the community service sector; Social Science, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services.
  • Three years' experience in team leadership role or duties
  • Evidence of professional development or qualifications in leadership and management areas
  • A thorough and practical working knowledge of alcohol and other drugs practice standards including demonstrated experience facilitating assessments and treatment plans, harm minimization, relapse prevention and education.
  • A thorough and practical working knowledge of the Youth Offending, Youth Justice Act and reforms, and Youth Justice service systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and experience working under the child protection system, risks and impacts to young people and families, including local services referrals.
Additional Skills and Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in person centred service delivery
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills applicable to managing, developing and supporting staff, resolution of organisational issues, providing advice, and negotiating contracts
  • Ability to develop complex relational practice and person-centred tools and processes; undertake service planning and make recommendations regarding improvements
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills together with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of people and to maintain confidentiality
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare complex reports for senior management using specialist/advanced communication and computer literacy skills and experience
  • Demonstrated organisational skills to plan and prioritise work efficiently and effectively and manage competing demands and priorities
  • Current QLD Driver license
  • Current First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain
  • Current Positive Notice Blue Card
  • Requirement to work outreach hours in the evenings and weekends as negotiated.
Salary & Benefits

The salary is $90,729 + Super + Salary Sacrifice.

Refer to the level 6 competencies in the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award.
