The Role:

Due to the rapid growth in our Plant Based Proteins business, an exciting new opportunity exists for an experienced and energetic Senior Marketer to join our team as a Senior Brand Manager – Plant Based Protein. Reporting into the Head of Brand, Communications and Digital, and working very closely with our General Manager Simplot Food Futures and the Plant Based Protein team, your purpose is to ensure achievement of relevant targets for growth, innovation, profitability, and equity of brands and products within Plant Based Protein.

What You Will Do:

Located at our Mentone head office, you will lead the creation of the strategic brand plan for Plant Based Protein in both Foodservice and Retail while supporting the marketing teams doing the same in New Zealand and International. This includes taking ownership of executing key initiatives in Australia to achieve brand goals.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the development of brand communication and activation plans, along with the strategic category plan for Plant Based Protein.
  • Presenting marketing strategies to key customers. Actively participate in customer innovation sessions and category reviews, account planning workshops including shopper and consumer insight workshops.
  • Using your experience in front-end innovation and design led thinking, lead the development of the brand innovation strategy across all channels.
  • Project managing key innovation projects, including developing an effective launch plan and determining launch volumes.
  • Working in collaboration with the Head of Insights and relevant agencies, lead the briefing and execution of new research projects that address specific gaps in category knowledge.
  • Deliver category NSV and contribution targets by executing the category integrated business plan and strategic initiatives, on time to budget.
  • Work with the Revenue Management team to develop pricing strategies for Plant Protein across the different channels and markets.
The role will require you to build strong working relationships with the internal cross-functional teams and individuals as well as external stakeholders, suppliers, and agencies.

About You:

We are seeking an experienced seasoned commercial marketer who has a proven track record of driving profitable growth and brand equity across emerging categories. You will have experience in front-end innovation methodology including design led thinking practice, rapid prototyping and design sprints. You may have experience working within a small company and running a small business and/or have been involved in a start-up.

Naturally, you are curious, and highly motivated. You are comfortable making decisions with limited knowledge but are always ready to pivot as you get more information. You will bring a growth mindset and good business acumen. Your ability to manage and influence a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders is crucial and your outstanding results in developing and executing product innovation speaks for itself.
