This is a fixed term recruitment process for a period of 6 months initially with the possibility of an extension to 12 months and / or permanency.

About us

The Construction Industry Long Service Leave Payments Board (trading as MyLeave) is a Statutory Authority established pursuant to the provisions of the Construction Industry Portable Paid Long Service Leave Act 1985 (the Act). The primary mission of MyLeave is to manage in an efficient and effective manner, the portable long service leave Scheme for construction industry employees, established by the Act.

About the role

The Policy and Legislation Officer supports all Scheme policy and legislation activities including proposals for legislative changes to ensure legislation is keeping pace with external environment, facilitating the changes to Regulations and coordination of all legal activities. The Policy and Legislation Officer develops a repository of policy positions, interpretive guidance and Board position statements that supports consistency in regulatory activity. The position develops, reviews and maintains regulator performance framework including measurement and reporting of regulatory outcomes.

About you

We are seeking a team player that has demonstrated experience in researching, developing and interpreting legislation, policy and procedures in a regulatory environment. To be successful in this role you will need to have highly developed verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience in drafting Board, Executive and/or Ministerial documents and reports. To ensure Myleave achieves its objectives, well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to consult with key stakeholders in the development of policy and legislation is a key requirement. As MyLeave is a small organisation your ability to work effectively both as part of a team and a self-starter with the ability to organise time and prioritise workload is essential. Well-developed analytical, research and problem-solving skills are a key requirement.
