Youth And School Development Worker

The Youth Services team works collaboratively with various agencies, Local Governments and schools across Knox and the eastern metropolitan region. We are a team of 10 with a budget supported by Council and State Government funding.

This temporary role (until January 2022) is focused on;

  • Youth development and capacity building
  • Identifying needs and developing young people's skills and confidence in areas of vulnerability
  • Increasing young people's ability to access services
  • Lead the Friday evening 'Night Owl' program in partnership with Community Wellbeing.
  • Work with Youth Services staff to support the delivery of a range of programs and promote, provide and distribute the use of resources including online resources;
  • Support the development and delivery of Youth Services online presence.
To be a successful applicant for the Youth and Schools Development Worker you will need to be able to demonstrate:
  • A commitment to displaying the organisation's values with the ability to work independently and within a team;
  • Strong administrative, organisational and planning skills including the use of online resources
  • Experience in social group work, developing workshops and program content and community development
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of the Youth Services team.
  • Relevant Qualifications and Experience
You will require a current Working with Children Check, Police check and driver's licence.

This position will be required to work Tuesday and Friday, with the additional day/s negotiable (Thursday preferred). The position will require additional afterhours (Friday nights) to run the Night Owls (this program will run on Friday nights with a maximum of 2 8-10 week programs per year). Some weekend work may be available (negotiated)


Annual Salary - Band 6: $87,738 - $95,823(pro rata) + 9.5% Superannuation
