About the organisation
The Australian Energy Market Operator’s (AEMO) vision is to shape a better energy future for all Australians. AEMO’s role is to manage the electricity and gas systems and markets across Australia, helping to ensure Australians have access to affordable, secure and reliable energy.

About the role
Reporting to and working alongside the Chief Governance Officer and General Counsel, the Assistant Company Secretary will be accountable to ensure the effective functioning of the company secretarial activities within AEMO. This includes facilitating the smooth and effective operation of AEMO’s Board and committees and acting as the interface with management in the preparation and delivery of matters for the Board and related committees. Critical to success in this role is the accurate and timely fulfilment of compliance and reporting requirements to statutory and third parties, including developing and maintaining the organisation’s yearly planner. The appointee will assist with the preparation of the organisation's annual report, coordinate new director induction processes, and maintain the highest standards in preparing for and coordinating all Board, committee and general meetings, including minute taking. In addition to ensuring the relevance of key corporate governance documentation, the role includes monitoring and providing details on corporate governance developments and director conference/education opportunities.
