The Tasmanian Health Service is seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for a Podiatry Technical Assistant (508276) vacancy.

Salary

$58,323 to $61,704 pro-rata per annum

Period of Employment

Permanent part-time day work, working 14.44 hours per fortnight commencing 1 August 2021.

Location

Royal Hobart Hospital - Podiatry

Duties

Provide high level of technical support to podiatrists in the manufacture of foot orthoses.

Maintenance and safe operation of orthotic manufacturing equipment and orthotic lab rooms.

Maintaining stock levels and ordering of orthotic materials.

Provide supervision, training, and education of staff in foot orthoses manufacture and appropriate use of equipment.

Essential Requirements

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer.

The following checks are to be conducted:

1. Conviction checks in the following areas:

a) Crimes of Violence
b) Sex Related Offences
c) Serious Drug Offences
d) Crimes involving dishonesty

2. Identification check

3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check

Desirable Requirements

  • Relevant education, training, skills or experience in orthotic manufacture, footwear modifications and workshop maintenance
