JOB DESCRIPTION

South Australia is at the forefront of an exciting, customer-driven energy transition, with more than 60% of the state’s electricity needs being met by renewables and one of the highest per capita uptakes of rooftop solar in the world. Battery energy storage is now becoming a common feature in South Australian homes and we expect strong growth in electric vehicles over the next decade as we move to decarbonise transport.


SA Power Networks is a world leader in integrating these distributed energy resources with the energy system, and we believe we can play a critical role in enabling a new era of economic prosperity for South Australia powered by abundant, reliable, and low cost clean energy.


However, the significant transformation of the network and our services relies on a solid foundation, and SA Power Networks currently has the oldest asset fleet in the National Electricity Market. This challenge will require new approaches to asset management and significant stakeholder engagement related to the expected risk/service levels of the network and the related asset replacement expenditure.


This is an exciting time for the state and our organisation. Following a refresh of key organisational strategies, including our Network Strategy, we are seeking motivated individuals who can complement our highly skilled and dedicated team and who would like to help us in Empowering South Australia.


The Role

This role will be responsible for facilitating external stakeholder engagement on our strategies, regulatory funding proposals and strategic initiatives related to our significant distributed energy and asset management strategic programs. You will be responsible for consulting and informing external stakeholder landscape, co-design the engagement approach with key internal and external stakeholders. You will create, plan and administer engagement activities, develop and ensure appropriate external messaging, and create and launch a variety of communications materials in support of our engagement.


Other Factors Relevant to this Role

  • 18 month full time contract
  • Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, Communications or Marketing and/or the equivalent level of skills and knowledge gained with experience
  • Current SA drivers licence
  • Travel intrastate which may involve staying away from home for periods of time.
  • Must be prepared to work flexible hours, including after hours, to meet business requirements.
