JOB DESCRIPTION

The North East Link Project will deliver the missing link in Melbourne's road network that will finally complete the Metropolitan Ring Road by connecting the M80 to the Eastern Freeway to improve outer north-south links for road freight movement and improve travel time and reliability.

About North East Link

The North East Link Project will connect the missing link in Melbourne's freeway network, while increasing the capacity of the Eastern Freeway. It will slash travel times, get trucks off local roads and link key growth areas in the north and south-east.

About the Opportunity

Be part of a transformative infrastructure project for Victoria, with an exciting role in our PPP team (Tunnels). You will bring your technical expertise to role that will have real impact on Victoria's largest transport infrastructure project and provide positive community impact to Melburnians for decades to come. You will assist in the design coordination process, mobilisation of the Primary Package (tunnels), help administer the contract and meet with other authorities, municipal councils and key stakeholders. You will support a range of stakeholders in order to achieve project goals by providing expert technical guidance, using your effective interpersonal skills to form constructive relationships and drive positive outcomes. You will also play a key role between the project and community, regularly contributing to community engagement sessions and so much more!

Your primary base will be the Melbourne CBD however there will also be time spent at site offices (Bulleen, Heidelberg or Watsonia).

About You

You possesses a relevant engineering qualification and a Victorian drivers licence. You are highly motivated to learn new skills and grow your experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You possess the interpersonal skills necessary to support a broad range of stakeholders and are excited by the opportunity to work in a cross-disciplinary environment.

Furthermore, you possess:

  • Prior experience in a project engineering role developed in a transport infrastructure environment. Experience in structural engineering (ideally focussed on bridges or tunnels) with experience in design coordination and contract management will be highly regarded
  • Ability to provide technical expertise to project teams to meet scope, time and cost obligations across the design and construction process
  • Ability to proactively identify project risks and respond to issues as well as supervise and manage contractor performance, effectively negotiating variations and other issues
  • A strong understanding of occupational health & safety requirements, environmental responsibilities and commercial obligations in the context of a transport project.
