We currently have an opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Industry Order Desk team located in Osborne Park. In this role you will manage the delivery of multiple small to mid-size equipment & services projects that are live at any one time, typically ranging from c. 50k AUD to 1.5m AUD in size, with domestic and international. In addition, projects may include occasional internal R&D projects as well.

You are responsible for overall ownership of the projects assigned, ensuring they are completed in line with contracted delivery times, meet quality requirements and maximise sales margins.

Job Responsibilities

  • Safely execute projects, throughout the project life cycle from opportunity qualification through to cash collection, managing the project cornerstones of Scope, Cost and Schedule
  • Assist with the project cost estimate
  • Working with Finance and inside the ERP system (Epicore), manage projects from a financial perspective including initial set up, billing at key stages, forecast to complete, variation management, as well as close out / final invoicing & payments
  • Create, initiate & maintain robust project plans for each order / contract after receiving a hand over of the order from Sales and Engineering
  • Liaise with key in-house resources throughout the project
  • Develop & ensure adherence to client contact protocols by project
  • Initiate and manage the supply of materials and parts in line with the project
  • Continually review progress and estimated timing of delivery from suppliers & FLS manufacturing centres to meet production schedules, manage costs and cash flows to best effect for FLSmidth
  • Expedite delivery as required or amend production plans with appropriate advice to clients and other internal stakeholders if delays are predicted; derive & drive recovery plans as required to maintain schedule
  • Oversee and as necessary manage the assembly of equipment including regularly visiting the assembly provider, keeping up to date with progress of assembly against project plans
  • Ensures quality and safety standards are met by the provider
  • Ensures quality checks are completed and any non-conformances are actioned, resolved and recorded
What You Bring
  • Engineering or a Project Management qualification to Bachelor Level or higher is highly desirable
  • Minimum 2-3 years relevant experience post qualification working inside established Project management principles such as PMBOK. Lesser qualifications if bolstered with more extensive relevant experience will also be considered
  • A Quality Mindset - knowledge of ISO 9000, management principles & methods common to the mining industry will be an advantage (familiarity with ITP, MDR etc)
  • Stock control exposure / knowledge, ERP working knowledge advantageous
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication and negotiation skills
