Position Summary

Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.

An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Pathology Collector/Phlebotomist to join our Pathology Department at Castlemaine.

The position will be based at Castlemaine Collection Centre but you may be required to work at surrounding Collection rooms in Kyneton and New Gisborne.

Minimum requirements for this role is Certificate 111 in Pathology Collection.

To be successful in this role you must demonstrate a strong background in pathology collection along with a working knowledge of point of care testing.

You will be required to do Home Visits, Ward Rounds and Blood fridge monotoring and other point of care testing.

Ability to adapt quickly to new surroundings with flexibity to work at surrounding collection centres a must. Excellent verbal and non verbal skills a must, be able to assess your patients needs quickly. Must be computer literate and adapt to departmental policies. Drivers licence essential.
