Product Analyst

What can you expect?

  • The role of Product Analyst sits within the Consumer Wealth Product, Pricing and Propositions team and is responsible for helping with the ongoing management of Mercer Superannuation products in line with the Consumer Wealth Divisions’ strategic imperatives
  • A key deliverable of this role is the successful roll-out of the Design & Distribution Obligations Project. The Product Analyst is expected to bring a creative and analytical skill set to solving strategic issues for the Consumer Wealth portfolio

We will count on you to:
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the broader market, competitive environment and regulatory landscape as they relate to the Consumer Wealth Division products and its clients, partners and members
  • Assist in the process of new product development, analysis and designs
  • Undertake research and analysis as required to ensure all products keep up with changes in regulation and legislation
  • Identify product changes and enhancements to grow and retain members, increase funds under management and reduce product complexity
  • Liaise with teams, as required, to deliver MST product strategy and initiatives within agreed timeframes, budget and specification
  • Undertake product reviews through the lens of the Consumer Wealth Divisions’ strategic imperatives and Customer need
  • Escalation point for Product Communications for product related queries
  • Provide input to, and analytics on, an expanding product suite
  • Work with Consumer Wealth and Marketing to undertake research and analysis, to drive critical insights which will shape portfolio strategies and/or key performance issues and develop working hypotheses and recommendations as part of the portfolio strategy development process
  • Support the drafting and delivery of business documents, such as Board reports and policy documents
  • Develop and maintain product tools, such as product specification templates and fee change or new client sign offs
What you need to have:
  • At least three years experience in superannuation industry.
  • Evidence of commercial acumen with focus on superannuation and financial services
  • Advanced Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to cater for different audiences
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities in a demanding work environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of the team
