JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Public Trust Officer is responsible for managing a caseload of complex files within a defined practice area. The role will provide customers with professional advice across a number of areas including deceased estates and trust administration, administering the financial affairs of customers who have a decision-making disability and conveyancing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer a caseload of complex files on behalf of the regional office. This includes providing professional assistance and advice to customers and handling public enquires regarding the range of services provided by the Public Trustee.
  • Provide advice, support and assistance to junior staff members in accordance with best practice and procedures.
  • Review the work of Public Trust Officers as required, including statements of account and financial advice documents to ensure compliance with office policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the administration of Office and Trust Accounts are in accordance with financial and audit requirements and Office policy and co-ordinate financial reports, office accounts and monitoring systems.
  • Prepare statements of account in accordance with legislative standards and ensure the coordination and administration of office systems, financial reports, office accounts and monitoring systems are in accordance with audit requirements and office policy.
  • Provide support for the regional office and assisting other staff members with professional and administrative matters including the facilitation of and entry of new customers into the system.
  • Ensure the provision of high quality services through assisting with marketing the activities of the office in the local area.
